The Team Behind Alchemi Renovations

Over 25 years of combined experience delivering design-led, sustainable residential projects across prime central London.

Laura Marino and Charlie Baxter — partners in life and business — co-founded Alchemi Group, a multi-award-winning development management company that set new standards in design-led residential delivery across prime central London, with a portfolio valued at over £1 billion at peak.

During their restoration of the Grade II-listed Westminster Fire Station, a major flood revealed how vulnerable even landmark buildings are to a changing climate — confirming what their years of experience had already shown them: London's private housing stock needs the same calibre of expertise historically reserved for large-scale development.

They founded Alchemi Renovations to bring that expertise directly to homeowners — making the process clear, coordinated, and design-led. Laura also leads Studio L London, an award-winning interior design studio dedicated to creating beautifully sustainable, narrative-driven living environments.

One Team. Three Capabilities.

Alchemi Renovations draws on the combined strengths of three integrated practices:

  • Alchemi Renovations — Renovation project management with understanding of the Warm Homes Plan and what that means for homeowners — and how to navigate it.

  • Alchemi Group — MMulti-award-winning, design-led development managers across prime central London. Pioneers of a design-first approach to residential development that seeded and transformed how London homes are conceived, delivered, and marketed.

  • Studio L London — Award-winning and a BIID interior design studio featured in major press.

Together, we redefine high-end living by creating spaces that are beautiful, functional, and environmentally conscious — ensuring homes endure in both style and value.

  • Alchemi Group is an award-winning, design-led London-based property development manager delivering boutique and mixed-use developments in prime central London. Each project aims to respond to the local vernacular and positively enhance the area while meeting the needs of current and future generations. At the heart of Alchemi's inspirational design is a keen awareness of the environment and climate change. Specialists in finding maximum value by reusing, restoring and increasing the efficiency of existing buildings — from Victorian terraces to redundant Georgian fire stations — Alchemi's experience in retrofitting is exceptional.

Alchemi's latest project — Westminster Fire Station — is currently shortlisted for the RIBA London Award 2025.
